How Your Support Helps

Your support helps make hands-on learning and creative tools accessible to the community by supporting:

  • Shared tools and workshop access

  • Hands-on classes and skill-building opportunities

  • Youth and adult learning programs

  • A welcoming, inclusive creative space

Community Initiatives

Beyond the workshop, The Rivet supports creativity and connection throughout the community through outreach programs, shared resources, and informal ways to gather and make together.

Little Free LABraries

Built by local middle-schoolers during Glow Camp, these officially registered Little Free Libraries serve as small but mighty STEM outposts in more rural parts of our county. With the help of dedicated volunteer stewards, each LABrary is kept stocked with science books and hands-on STEM activity kits—bringing curiosity, creativity, and accessible learning opportunities directly to kids right where they live.

FREE Monthly Maker Meet-Ups at The Rivet

Our Maker Meet-Ups create low-pressure opportunities for makers to connect, share ideas, and spend time creating alongside others. These informal gatherings help build community across skill levels and disciplines—no experience required.

Current meet-ups include:

Hand-Builder’s Hang • Every First Sunday • 11am – 12pm
A quiet, bonus hour of hand-building with your buddies before the workshop officially opens! Pottery clearance is required to ensure studio safety.

Fiber Friends • Every First Wednesday • 6pm – 9pm
Join fellow fiber fanatics to co-work on individual projects, trade tips, and spill the tea. Please note that this is an informal community meet-up that does not provide formal instruction.

Please note that these informal community meet-ups do not provide formal instruction, but our members and fellow meet-up attendees generally love to share their knowledge and expertise.

Sippin' Sundays

Sippin’ Sundays combine creative projects with a relaxed, social atmosphere—inviting adults to unwind, try something new, and connect with others over making. These events are designed to be fun, welcoming, and accessible for first-timers and returning makers alike.
