Join the Rivet every week during the school year in activities designed to ignite your child’s love of creating. Choose from pottery, 3D printing, woodworking, and more! Bring your ideas, and together, we’ll transform them into reality.

Limited Youth Programs 

Remake Learning Days: Light-Up Lab
Ages 10-15 | May 18th | 10am-12pm
Registration: $25
 
Dive into the exciting world of lights and laser-cutting across 3 take-home projects, covering skills like wiring, soldering, digital design, and laser operation. Students will first create a LED name tag using simple tools and powered engravers. Next up, we’ll elevate those wiring skills by implementing soldering in order to make a handheld game. Finally, we will move to our computer lab and laser cutter in order to design and etch a custom lamp. Each student will gain hands-on experience with powerful equipment and technology used across a variety of STEM fields.
 
This program will replace our Youth Workshop Hours for this Saturday.
  
Each student must have their own unique account.
Adults will not be able to register from their personal accounts.
The Basics of Pottery: A Weeklong Workshop

Ages 15-18 | 10am-12pm | Tuition: $200

Join us for a comprehensive pottery experience spread across five 2-hour sessions. Geared towards individuals aged 15-18, this week-long workshop at The Rivet’s pottery studio explores various pottery techniques, including wheel throwing, slip casting, handbuilding, and glazing.

Throughout the class, students will not only learn the fundamentals of pottery but will also gain an introduction to The Rivet’s collaborative studio environment. As a culmination of their journey, participants will receive a Pottery Clearance, allowing them to utilize our studio during open workshop hours. Additionally, each student will be granted an access pass for extended work time on the last day of the class.

Please Note: To access The Rivet’s Pottery Studio during Open Workshop Hours, individuals must be 16 years of age or older. If under 16, participants must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 or above.

Wire Your World

Ages 10-15  |  April 10 | 9am-12pm (Half Day) 

$65 per child | Before Care $15

Light your world with a custom-crafted lamp. This camp will come down to the wire as you learn every step of the process. Design, build, wire, and assemble a unique lamp for your unique space.

*Before care allows drop off as early as 8am.

2024 Summer Camps

The Rivet is pleased to offer a full schedule of in-person camps for the summer! Each camp is a week-long set of activities based on a unique STEM theme. Click the arrows or dots in the purple box below to view camps.

Camps run from 9am to 4pm or as a half-day from 9am-12pm. Add extended or before care for an additional fee and drop off as early as 8am and pick up as late as 5:30pm.

Passionate about STEM? Join us in igniting excitement by building Little Free LABraries across State College!

Glow camp is an opportunity for self-identifying females and nonbinary individuals to gain leadership, construction, and design skills in fields where females are traditionally underrepresented.

Learn the tools and tips of the trade behind mass market creation of everyday objects using three different molds and four different casting materials all created by YOU!
